Lynn Santer sent her first manuscript "The Magical Scarecrows" to a publisher when she was only nine years old. In reply she received a letter of encouragement, a free "Winnie the Pooh" book, and she was advised to write again when she was older. Over three decades later, having traveled the world and lived in both hemispheres, Lynn has two best sellers, ten novels, and fifteen feature screenplays under her belt. She is a member of the AWG (Writer's Guild) the ASA (Society of Authors) the PFTC (Pacific Film & Television Corporation) and CAL (Copyright Agency Limited).
*NOTE: Novels include those ghosted, out of print, and yet to be published.
In 2002, Lynn's first short film production "Lewis's Piano" won the "Launch Film Festival BEST INDEPENDENT FILM" award. In the same year she wrote two feature screenplays under contract to a Hollywood producer, and she passed the writing test for Grundy Television's hit series "Neighbours" - a show that has been the launching pad to catapult many Australian greats to international stardom.
The first print run of Lynn's novel "Sins of Life" sold out in a matter of weeks and the book became Minerva's number one selling title in the UK in 1999. Her sequel novels "Into the Fire" and "Evil by Design" were published by Equilibrium Books in 2003.
Also in 2003, Zeus Publications released Lynn's next blockbuster - the controversial action adventure "Land of the Free". While written as fiction, "Land of the Free" is based on real life events involving Lynn's efforts with Hollywood legend, Tippi Hedren (Alfred Hitchcock's star of "The Birds" turned big cat conservationist) and a covert group of ex special-forces commandos to expose brutality against endangered big game by some of the richest men on earth.
While in Hollywood for the US launch of "Land of the Free" and to attend the Emmy's (Sept, 2004) the rights to the feature adaptation of "Land of the Fee" were quickly stitched up by Jeff Mackler. A seasoned Hollywood veteran, Jeff has represented such superstars as Johnny Carson, Liza Minnelli, and Christopher Reeve. He has also just completed a multimillion-dollar production and distribution agreement with Miramax Film, Dimension Films, and Universal Studios for a project which is set to star Jim Carrey.
In 2005 Lynn launched her most controversial title to date, “ Professor Midnight”. This fictional fantasy has been dubbed “Harry Potter for grown ups” and pitched as somewhere between “Harry Potter” and “The Da Vinci Code”. Although the story itself is complete fiction “Professor Midnight” incorporates real-life white Witchcraft as it is practiced today. When a Reverend of the Anglican Church started getting up in his pulpit during his Sunday morning sermons preaching, “Do not read this book or you will lose your soul” sales went through the roof and Channel Nine’s high-rating “Sunday Program” aired a 45 minute cover story investigating the phenomenon.
